Eric Bruntlett, Philadelphia Phillies
Tribute to 1998 Flair Wave of the Future
by Goose Joak
This card is a few months old, but I thought I’d post it in honor of Bruntlett’s recent ninth inning feat against the Mets. Eric became the first player in National League history to win a ballgame with an unassisted triple play. Granted, it’s kind of silly, like being the second Cardinal to hit for the cycle in order (John Mabry, thank you), but it’s also kind of cool.
The Wave of the Future cards from 1998 actually have liquid and bubbles inside of them, which I tried to replicate here. They also had glitter inside.
Hope you enjoy!
